Since the end of the war in 1975, the Lord has used a handful of men, trained by missionaries during the war, to establish an underground church in Vietnam.  For more than 38 years, these leaders have carried the torch through much persecution and difficulty until 2008 when these house-churches were given formal recognition by the Vietnamese government as the Vietnam Baptist Church.  As a result, an outpouring of souls are being led into His kingdom every day and we feel that the Lord has called us to help build up the supporting infrastructure of the thriving Church in Vietnam.  Specifically we feel a need to help educate the church leaders so they can train others in the areas of worship, preaching, and Christian education.

The original vision was to establish a main Bible College that would rest on the supreme authority of God's word and is fully reliant on the Spirit of God for revelation. The Lord supernaturally provided the funds for the first Bible College to be built before Shaun and Lien had left for the mission field and that campus has been operating since 2013. Over twenty church pastors and leaders have been enrolled and have been studying not only God's Word and how to teach and preach it, but also church administration and discipleship, among other subjects. We recently celebrated their graduation (Fall 2016) with Luther Rice University who partnered with us on curriculum. In 2016, we also began to send out the pastors from this Bible College to conduct similar training sessions for pastors and leaders in their sister church located in central Vietnam and we currently in the middle of a capital campaign to build a permanent facility there.

In addition to running the Bible College, SALM67 Ministries has been given several opportunities for social outreach and ministry. We have been able to partner with local governments to provide needy children with the financial support to attend school; we have held outreach event at local orphanages; provided food, clothing and new homes to families in need both in the southern area and central regions of the country.
